Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has urged Nigerian Muslims and all citizens to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr to pray for absolute peace to reign all over the country.
Senator Adeola, popularly called Senator Yayi by his supporters and admirers, also congratulated all Nigerian Muslims for the successful conclusion of this year’s Ramadan fasting.
The lawmaker, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, in his Eid-el-Fitri felicitation message to his Muslim constituents and all Nigerians prayed that Almighty Allah will accept all the supplications and answer their prayers as offered in the Holy month of Ramadan.
Senator Adeola further expressed the hope that the spiritual lessons of Ramadan and the injunctions of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) on self-denial, love, peaceful co-existence, fairness and justice will continue to guide them in their daily lives and relations with other citizens.
The lawmaker stated, “As we enter yet another electioneering period in a few months’ time, let us continue to renew our hope for a secured nation and a prosperous future for the citizenry under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I am sure our prayers during the past month while fasting will be answered in due course.”
He therefore urged all Muslims and other Nigerians to continue to pray fervently against insecurity in the country.
Senator Adeola further enjoined Muslims and other Nigerians to pray to Allah to grant the nation’s leaders the wisdom to proffer and apply lasting solutions to the killings and other acts of violence being perpetrated by criminal elements across the country.
While stating that Islam is a religion of peace, kindness, love of God and humanity, Senator Adeola also urged Muslims to continue in all the pious and righteous ways associated with the Ramadan, stressing that tolerance and peaceful co-existence should be adopted as a way of life for all Nigerians as government take steps to find solutions to myriads of societal problems, some of which he said are of international dimension and origin.
